Seeking presenters & paper submissions to round out a session proposal for the April 2006 O.A.H. national conference in Washington, D.C. The session focuses upon native-newcomer relations, interaction, and/or accommodation in the Old Northwest Territory of the United States from approximately 1750-1850. The scope is broadly defined, but the intention of the session is to explore new meanings/understandings of cross-cultural contact in the region, especially as it relates to interaction beyond the battlefield.
Anyone interested should email a one-page abstract of their paper topic and a brief c.v. to the following e-mail address no later than Wednesday, December 22, 2004. E-mail submissions only, please. We welcome submissions from all levels of the academic community, from graduate students through senior faculty. Proposals embracing unique methodologies or emanating from the native perspective are particularly encouraged.
