The Graduate English Society at Texas Tech University seeks papers on British Literature for its conference this upcoming March 5th and 6th of 2005. The theme of the conference is “Horizons,” and it will emphasize papers that seek an interdisciplinary approach to their subject matter. However, the theme should be interpreted broadly and creative ways of relating to the theme are encouraged. The deadline for submissions is Dec 15, 2004. All submissions should be a 150 to 200 word proposal and should be sent to the e-mail address shown below. The conference’s keynote speaker will be Keith Carter, an educator and renowned photographer at Lamar University.
Topics for papers may include but are not limited to:
- All authors, genres, and time periods of British Literature
- Literary Theory and British Literature
- Borders and Globalization
- Pedagogy
- Cultural Studies
- Feminism
- Film and British Literature
