This international conference, to be held October 21-23, 2005 at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA, will bring together admirers and scholars of Adalbert Stifter (1805-1868) to celebrate the Austrian writer’s bi-centennial.

The conference is designed to be inclusive of all levels of academia and of all scholarly or creative approaches to Stifter and aims to foster discussion of his work, legacy, and its relevance for us today.

We strongly encourage submissions that fall outside of the model of the conference paper (e.g., visual, musical, or performance-related work) and invite contributions from undergraduate and graduate students, junior and senior faculty as well as creative artists.

Deadline for proposals is April 15, 2005.
