REMINDER THAT ABSTRACTS FOR THE AUSTRALASIAN WELFARE HISTORY WORKSHOP ARE DUE DECEMBER 1ST 2004.
Keynote Speaker - Professor Jill Roe, Macquarie University
This two day workshop, co-sponsored by Australian Catholic University, Brotherhood of St Laurence and La Trobe University, aims to provide practitioners of welfare history with a space in which they can reflect on the broad social, political and cultural contexts which have shaped the ways in which welfare has been understood and delivered. Preference will be given to papers addressing the changing relations between the state and non-state sector, the religious and the secular, and professionals and volunteers.
Proposals for papers and posters from scholars and postgraduates working in the field are invited.
