THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY
VIETNAM STUDIES GRADUATE SUMMER SCHOOL
Jan. 31st - Feb. 04th, 2005
The ANU Vietnam Studies Summer School (VSGSS) is a week-long program of intensive research activities designed to bring together scholars working on Vietnam throughout Australia and New Zealand to exchange knowledge and experience and to access the scholarly resources pf Australia’s pre-eminent center for scholarship on Vietnam.
The broad goals for the week are to provide a forum for building of networks among postgraduate scholars through the exchange of knowledge and experiences surrounding the study of Vietnam. The program also aims to provide students around Australia and New Zealand with the opportunity to use the rich and diverse resources on Vietnam held at the ANU and the Australian National Library. The VSGSS coincides with ANU’s Asia-Pacific week during which a range of evening social and cultural activities will be held.
Hosts for the program will comprise experienced Vietnam researchers and scholars drawn from among the ANU’s staff. ANU has the biggest number of Vietnam specialists across a diverse range of disciplines within the humanities and social sciences in Australia on its academic staff.
The school is open to graduate scholars worldwide. Applications are especially sought from Ph.D. scholars working on broad issues in Vietnamese society and culture from both historical and contemporary perspectives.
Please visit the VNSS website for further information and registration details (web address shown below).
NOTE THAT THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL THE END OF NOVEMBER.
