This is the third biennial Children’s Literature International Summer School. Areas of study include Multiculturalism and Children’s Literature, Fairy Tales, Comparative Children’s Literature, Origins and Developments, Visual Texts and Creative Writing for Children (which will include both lectures and writing workshops). In addition, there will be exhibitions and visits to relevant places of interest. CLISS is not a conference, but a concentrated period of study for which participants will prepare, participate in seminars, and attend lectures. This is an opportunity to work with international tutors, and to study with other international students in the field of children’s literature. The summer school will be of interest to all those who wish to extend their knowledge, especially as several modules of the MA in Children’s Literature may be taken for credit transfer at undergraduate or graduate level. It is also an opportunity to use the research facilities provided on Roehampton University’s beautiful campus, only seven miles from central London.
