In conjunction with the Colorado Endowment for the Humanities, the High Plains Chautauqua is looking for scholar performers for its 6th annual Chautauqua August 2-6, 2005. This year's title is "Shake Rattlar and Roll: America from 1945-1960"
We are looking for a variety of characters from all fields of politics, society, and culture. Of course Truman, Eisenhower are welcome, but so are Atheletes, artists, writers, TV personalities, musicians, activists, etc. We are especially interested in hispanic/latino characters, but seek a diversity of views and themes.
Whether you are wishing to get into Chautauqua or have great experience we are interested in talking to you about any characters you might wish to propose for this summer.
This is a one week event, but may become two sites over ten days. Pay for one site with one in character presentation and 1 workshop is $1,000 (a sum that we are trying to increase) plus expenses. Chautauqua's living history is an excellent method for reaching a broad cross-section of the American people. The High Plains averages about 700 people per night. So put your interests and research to work to enhance America's civic dialogue.
