The editorial board of SOLEADO invites submissions for Volumen 2 of the literary journal. The focus of the magazine is on Spanish-language writing, although the national origin of the writer does not matter. The one exception to the Spanish-language requirement is that certain texts that deal with the difficulties of being bilingual and/or bicultural are welcome to be written in "Spanglish" when that usage is essential to the text.

Submissions of poetry, short fiction, essays, creative nonfiction and translations are all welcome. Please submit no more than 10 pages of poetry, no more than 4 flash fictions (1000 words or less), or 2 short stories, essays or creative nonfiction pieces in any submission. Submissions can be made electronically and by regular mail. If submitting electronically, please write an e-mail to the editor (Jason Summers) at summersj@ipfw.edu BEFORE you send the manuscript. Please submit manuscripts in MS Word, RTF or plain TXT format, and identify it with the author's name and title of the work. Please include word count, manuscript title, author's name, author's country of origin, e-mail address and regular mailing address.

The manuscript reading period runs from Sept. 1, 2004 – March 31, 2005 for this edition. Volumen 1 is available online at the website listed below. Volumen 2 will also be published online in October 2005, and we will also publish a print version that combines both of these volumes.

All authors will receive three copies of the print version. SOLEADO acquires one-time publication rights, electronic publication rights and the right to use any work published in the journal in future anthologies. Authors retain all other rights. Authors who publish their works in any other medium must credit the work as having previously appeared in SOLEADO.

El consejo editorial de SOLEADO solicita manuscritos para el Volumen 2 de nuestra revista literaria. El enfoque de la revista es la escritura en español (castellano), aunque el origen nacional de los escritores no importa. La única excepción al requisito de escribir en español es que en ciertos textos que tratan con las vicisitudes de ser bilingüe y/o bicultural se puede escribir en "Spanglish" siempre y cuando ese uso del lenguaje es esencial al texto en cuestión.

Solicitamos poesía, cuentos, ensayos, no-ficción creativa y traducciones. No mande de una vez ni más de 10 páginas de poesía, ni más de 4 microcuentos (1000 palabras o menos), ni más de 2 cuentos, ensayos o textos de no-ficción creativas. Se puede mandar los manuscritos o correo electrónico o por correo normal. Si quiere mandar el texto por correo electrónico, hay que avisar DE ANTEMANO al editor (Jason Summers) en summersj@ipfw.edu antes de mandar el fichero. Los formatos aceptables son MS Word, RTF o en "texto". Indique en el nombre del fichero el nombre del autor y el título del manuscrito. Antes del texto indique el título, el número de palabras, el nombre del autor y su país de origen, su dirección de correo normal y su dirección de correo electrónico.
