Ninth Annual Postgraduate Student Conference, German Historical Institute London, 14 and 15 January 2005
The German Historical Institute London is organizing its ninth annual conference for postgraduate research students in the UK and Ireland working on German history, Anglo-German relations, or comparative topics.
The conference’s intention is to give PhD students an opportunity to present their work in progress and to discuss it with other students working in the same field. It is hoped that the exchange of ideas and methods will be fruitful for all participants.
The conference will take place at the German Historical Institute, 17 Bloomsbury Square, London WC1A 2NJ (Tel: 020 7309 2050) on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 January 2005.
There is no conference fee and the Institute will meet travel expenses up to a standard rail fare (within the UK). Participants will be responsible for their own accommodation, but the Institute may be able to offer assistance in some cases. If you are interested in attending, please inform the Secretary (e-mail address given below) by 8 November 2004 and include the following details:
- The exact title of your project.
- The date you started the project.
- The name, address, email & phone number of your university and supervisor.
- Confirm whether you have undertaken research in Germany.
Please note that all 2nd and 3rd year students are encouraged to present a paper on their PhD project. Applicants will be contacted as soon as possible.
