The 2005 SW/TX PCA/ACA Conference will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Hyatt Regency downtown. The Martial Arts Area solicits paper and presentation proposals from professors, graduate students, scholars, citizens, cowboys, and other aficionados of all things martial arts related. Also welcome are proposals for discussions and panels organized around common martial arts-centric themes or motifs. • Martial arts systems

• Kata, forms, patterns

• Self-defense techniques

• Practical martial training

• Martial arts magazines

• The popularity of martial arts in the USA

• The popularity of Pride, K-1 and MMA in the USA

• Tradition versus postmodern martial arts

• And, of course, other martial arts related topics are welcome
