Call for Papers: Texas Culture Area

26th Annual Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico
February 9-12, 2005
The 2005 SW/TX PCA/ACA Conference will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Hyatt regency downtown. The Texas Culture Area solicits paper and presentation proposals from professors, graduate students, scholars, citizens, cowboys, and other aficionados of all things Texas. Also welcome are proposals for discussions and panels organized around common Texas-centric themes or motifs. Further information regarding transportation, lodging, registration, the conference, and the history of the organizations involved can be located at the conference web site (web address shown below).
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:

- The Dallas Cowboys and/or The Houston Oilers
- Texas History
- Comanche Culture in Texas
- Texas-based Television Shows
- The Texas State Fair
- High School Football in Texas
- Texas Authors and Literature
- Art and Artists from Texas
- The Cowboy Boot as Cultural Icon
- Agriculture and Ranching in Texas
- Music and Musicians from Texas
- Texas Politics
- The Cowboy Hat as Cultural Icon
- Mexican-American Culture in Texas
- African-American Culture in Texas
- Juneteenth
- And, of course, other Texas-centric topics are welcome
