|
The Center for the Study of War and Society at the University of Tennessee is proud to announce its Friday Colloquium Series, “War, Diplomacy, and Society.” The Friday Colloquium features monthly speakers addressing various issues within the realms of military and diplomatic history. Our featured presenters include scholars and graduate students from across the nation addressing such topics as African American Isolationists in the 1920s and 1930s and anti-war activism among World War I veterans. This week’s presentation will come from Dr. George Rable (University of Alabama Department of History) and is entitled “Religion in the Grand Narrative of the American Civil War.” Dr. Rable’s presentation promises to provoke thought on an important historical phenomenon with implications for current discussions regarding religion and democracy. For more information regarding the Friday Colloquium, please contact Dr. George White, Jr., University of Tennessee History Department at (865) 974-9866 or, via email, jwhite16@utk.edu.
