This conference of the Netherlands American Studies Association (NASA) focuses on the concept of leadership as a way of studying American culture and society. It will be held in Middelburg, the Netherlands, on June 15-17, 2005.
The conference aims to serve as a platform for presenting new research in an American Studies context, which interprets leadership as an American phenomenon. We strongly encourage the inclusion of comparative approaches of leadership in Europe and America. The program committee particularly invites contributions on conceptional or theoretical aspect of leadership; papers on individual leaders are less likely to be accepted. Those who are interested in contributing a paper to this conference are invited to submit a short cv and a one-page paper proposal on one of the following sub-themes:
- Concepts of Leadership
- Leadership in Academia
- Leadership in America
- Leadership in the Arts
- Religious Leadership
- Media and Leaders
- Leadership in Euro-American Relations
- Leadership and Democracy
- Leadership as an American Export Product
- Gender Issues in American Leadership
