The Medieval Association of the Midwest welcomes paper proposals for the following panel:

Rhetoric in Byzantine Culture: New Approaches

This session welcomes a comparative and/or diachronic approach to the study of Byzantine culture from its antique roots to its Byzantine appropriation and evolution. Presenters are invited to explore rhetoric as a vehicle for literary, cultural, artistic, and socio-political representation and change.
