CALL FOR PAPERS
----------------------------------------------
The Columbia Journal of Historiography is an annual international forum for new and innovative research in the history, philosophy, and impact of historical scholarship. We welcome submissions from all branches of the social sciences and humanities and from all subfields of history, that will contribute to a lively critical debate on the meaning of history and historical scholarship.
All manuscripts must be written in English, and should be a maximum of 8000 words including footnotes. Submissions must include two double-spaced printed copies without the author's name or any other indication of authorship, as well as one electronic copy in Microsoft Word. Footnotes on the disk copy must have been entered with the footnote function, not manually. Submissions must include a printed cover page listing the author's name, the article's title, and the author's e-mail address, telephone number, and mailing address. We encourage graduate student submissions.
All submissions must conform to the Chicago Manual of Style's
documentary-note (or humanities) style. Please provide English translations of any foreign-language titles within footnotes.
Please note that we accept original submissions only. Do not submit previously published articles, manuscripts that are under consideration by another journal, or articles that have been accepted for publication elsewhere, even if an article has appeared in another language.
The extended deadline for submissions is October 1, 2004.
Book Reviews
If you are interested in reviewing a book, please send a query email with a proposal. In choosing books for review, we will give preference to books that relate to historiography or the impact of historical scholarship.
