CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

The Journal of Latino-Latin American Studies (JOLLAS) is an interdisciplinary, international, and peered reviewed journal housed at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. The journal seeks to be reflective of the shifting demographics, geographic dispersion, and new community formations occurring among Latino populations across borders and throughout the Americas. The journal emphasizes the collective understanding of Latino issues in the U.S. while recognizing the growing importance of transnationalism and the porous borders of Latino/Latin American identities.

JOLLAS welcomes manuscript submissions year round. The Journal of Latino-Latin American Studies encourages quality scholarship articles from relevant academic disciplines as well as from practitioners in the private and public sector. JOLLAS is receptive to scholarship coming from a variety of theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches. The Journal accepts manuscript submissions in the subject areas of migration, labor, education, gender issues, and identity. All research should be understood and examined through a transnational perspective.

The Journal will consider the following items for publication: essays, articles, book reviews, literature, and interviews. All articles must be grounded on relevant and recent scholarship in the fields of our interest. The maximum length should not exceed thirty pages, including notes and illustrations. References in the notes should conform to the mode specified in Part 2 "Style" in the Chicago Manual of Style, 14th ed., rev.(Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1993), pp. 157-161. Manuscripts should be accompanied by two duplicate copies and a CD or 3.5 inch computer disk (formatted in MS Word 6.0 or higher). The editors reserve the right to edit submissions if accepted for publication
