The Third Annual Tulane Maya Symposium offers members of the community, as well as students, educators and archaeologists, the opportunity to participate in an exciting interchange centered on the literary traditions of the Yucatec Maya. The Yucatán Peninsula is unique in the Maya world in having a continuous literary tradition dating from the prehispanic to the contemporary period. We invite you to join us October 29 – October 31, 2004 in New Orleans, LA on the campus of Tulane University for an exploration of hieroglyphic, Colonial, and contemporary texts written by the Yucatec Maya. This year’s program features a series of lectures, discussions, and workshops led by specialists in the fields of epigraphy, linguistics, anthropology, and Colonial history. To qualify for the early registration fee discount, please submit your registration form and payment before September 15, 2004.
