Proposals are now being accepted for the American Metafiction: Post 1945 Area. Papers on the theoretical, cultural, and textual aspects of metafiction are welcome, particularly those that consider the implications of metafiction as a literary style, its connections to other forms and styles of art, and its role in contemporary literature. Possible paper topics include, but certainly are not limited to:
- The role of the author in metafiction
- Metafictional representations of racialized and gendered identities
- Approaches to teaching metafiction
- The role of technology in metafiction
Questions concerning this area and/or abstracts of 150 words should be sent to Kelly Wisecup at the e-mail address below by November 1, 2004.
