LAST CALL FOR AUTHORS
The Encyclopedia of World Geography
We are inviting academic editorial contributors to the Encyclopedia of World Geography for the last submission deadline of October 1, 2004. Some 150 articles are newly available for assignment.
This comprehensive project is a three-volume encyclopedia for public, high-school, and undergrad college libraries to be published by Facts On File. The work is made up of some 800 articles, covering all aspects of world geography and related disciplines in the earth sciences. Available articles include geographic terms and practices, and geographic profiles of countries, cities, lakes, rivers, mountains, and other varied topics.
Each article, ranging from 400 to 5,000 words, is signed by the contributor. The General Editor for the encyclopedia is Dr. Robert W. McColl, University of Kansas, who will review all the articles for academic consistency.
If you are interested in contributing to the encyclopedia, it can be a notable publication addition to your CV/resume and broaden your publishing credits. There is also a small honorarium paid for each article, $20 to $135, depending on article length. For this last submission, articles are due October 1, firm. A free set of the encyclopedia ($250 value), in addition to the honoraria, is offered to contributors who handle 15 or more articles by the deadline (most are in the 500- to 700-word range).
The list of available articles is already prepared, and as a next step we will e-mail you the Reassignment List (Excel file) from which you can select topics that best fit your expertise and interests. Additionally, you will receive Style Guidelines that detail article specifications and honoraria payments.
