POSTGRADUATE SYMPOSIUM XI
8th OCTOBER
This year’s School of English SYMPOSIUM invites paper proposals from postgraduate students on "Contaminations”. Approaches to this theme may include, but are not limited to:
Exchange, contact and transmission.
Osmosis of literary and artistic forms.
Adulteration and infectious diseases as cultural metaphors.
Place and environmental contamination.
Hybridity and heterogeneity in cultural production.
Multimedia metamorphosis.
Abstracts should be approximately 250 words in length and should include a working title, a short biographical note, affiliation and e-mail address. Papers should be limited to 20 minutes and an additional 10 minutes question time will follow.
The Symposium will be held in the Morven Brown building of UNSW and attendance is open to postgraduates, staff and students from all universities. The day will offer an opportunity for exchanging ideas in a friendly environment, with lunch provided for all attendants.
Abstract deadline: 20th August, 2004.
