This special program is geared toward library staff who are interested in learning how to conduct oral history interviews and the concept of writing life stories. The program will also provide some basic information on planning for digitization of oral histories. Speakers include Mike Smith, Director of Reuther Library at Wayne State University, who will address how to conduct an interview and will do a "live demo" interview; Nancy Seubert, writing instructor, who will present a hands-on session on writing Life Stories; and Xan Goodman, MLC Network Librarian, who will address planning for digitization and other access issues for recorded oral histories. September 9, 2004, Hannah Community Center, East Lansing, Michigan, 9am-3:30pm.
