Street Politics
special section of Xcp: Streetnotes
In the next issue of Xcp: Streetnotes, we will be displaying examples of politics and power relations on the street. We are looking for documentation and analysis of politics in public places or at street level. Work about or on street campaigns, actions, protests, advertisments, power relationships, and performances are welcome. The idea is to discover politics through the lens of everyday experiences. Does power rest in the streets? How do streets or public places serve political purposes? Is the street relevant politically?
Participants are asked to send for publication, photographs, documents, writing, projects, and project synopses, where the “street” has become a site for politcal work, struggle, reflection, or critique.
We envision a display of innovative work from practitions, observers, and theorists.
