Teaching East Asian History
A seminar for New York World History and Social Studies Teachers
The program consists of a 6 six-hour workshop offered by The National Consortium for Teaching About Asia providing educators with an enriched background in the history of China and Japan. Special sessions will be offered on teaching strategies for AP world history.
Participants will receive a $500 stipend, $200 in resources, and eligibility to apply to the 2005 study tour to China and Japan. Their school will receive a $300 grant for the purchase of library material on Asia. The seminar will be held at Columbia University. Parking passes and housing for the evenings of Aug 2 - 5 will be provided.
