The 2nd IASTED International Conference on Alliances, Mergers, and Acquisitions (AMA 2004 will be held from November 8-10, 2004, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA, USA.
Firms use alliances, mergers, and acquisitions to acquire new resources, expand their capabilities, and to strengthen their position in their competitive environment. In the last decade, the business community has had the opportunity to observe the effects of these devices across many industries. While very promising, alliances, mergers, and acquisitions are complex, and have often led to undesirable results. The aim of IASTED's Alliances, Mergers, and Acquisitions conference is to act as a forum for the exchange of information and experiences among experts from academia, business, and government on this interdisciplinary subject. All papers submitted to this conference will be peer evaluated by at least two reviewers. Acceptance will be based primarily on originality and contribution. Highlights of the week will include paper sessions, tutorials, and keynote addresses.
