The Centre's goals are:

• to develop a guide to prosopography, which will enable specialists to keep abreast of new developments in the field and act as a first point of reference for newcomers
• to provide prosopographers with an account of the range of computer options available, and a software template amenable to customization and capable of being displayed on the internet
• to develop teaching programmes whereby students and their supervisors can be assured of a firm grounding in the discipline
• to pool expertise by offering ways for groups or individuals to find collaborators in other parts of the world
