This interdisciplinary conference has been organised by The Ferguson Centre for African and Asian Studies at The Open University and the Globalization, Identity Politics, and Social Conflict ‘GIPSC’ Project. At this conference, papers will focus on specific migrant groups or particular aspects of the migration process in specific contexts. Contributors will deliver papers on the experience of migration as reflected in cultural discourse and texts in the United Kingdom, Europe, Turkey, Bulgaria, China, India, Nigeria, Morocco, and Iran, and will range across a variety of topics in literary studies, sociolinguistics, economics, media studies, and politics.
