M.A. in European History at Western Carolina University
The History Department at Western Carolina University is pleased to announce a new M.A. track in European History.
Students will take core courses in European Historiography, which introduces the contentious and long standing issues in a broad range of western history, and Historical Methods, which provides the skills necessary for successful research. Additional graduate courses offered include Colonial America; Medieval Travelers; New Historical Methods, History of Capitalism; Twentieth Century Europe; German History; Nineteenth Century Europe; Barbarians, Christians, and Romans; Early Modern Europe; Europe in the Eighteenth Century; History of the Netherlands and more.
Students will receive individual attention from faculty members whose specialities include economic history, social history, and military history. The Hunter Library at WCU has recently added several large collections of primary sources in European history and plans to add more over the next five years. WCU is also in the process of creating an Institute for International Research, designed to help graduate students find opportunities for overseas study.
