The organizers of the 6th Annual Researching New York Conference invite proposals for papers, panels, workshops, roundtables, exhibits, and media or multi-media presentations on all aspects of the history of New York State—from the colonial period to the present. The conference will be held at the University at Albany, State University of New York on November 18th and 19th, 2004.
Researching New York brings together historians, researchers, archivists, librarians, graduate students, museum curators, Web site creators, filmmakers, and documentarians to share their work on New York State history. As in previous years, the conference will emphasize the integral relations between researchers and archival resources. Presentations from individuals or archives that highlight the vast resources available to researchers, as well as scholarship drawn from those resources, are encouraged.
Proposals are due by July 18, 2004. Full panel proposals, workshops, roundtables, exhibits, and media presentations are welcome. Partial panels and individual submissions will be considered. For panels and full proposals, please submit a one-page abstract of the complete session, a one page abstract for each paper or presentation, and a one-page curriculum vita for each participant. Individual submissions should include a one-page abstract and one-page curriculum vita. All submissions must include name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. Please be sure to notify us of any change of contact information after submission of your proposal. We prefer electronic submission to resrchny@albany.edu. If necessary, you can mail your proposal to the address below.
