Schreiner University’s Center for Innovative Learning seeks abstracts and papers for "Same-Sex Marriage: Context and Conversation,” an interdisciplinary symposium to be held on Thursday, 28 October 2004. Our goal is to raise awareness by generating thoughtful conversation on all facets of the same-sex marriage debate. We therefore invite individual, panel, and roundtable submissions on all aspects of same-sex marriage, including:
- Marriage equality
- Historical context
- Legal issues and complexities
- Religious considerations
- Popular media/cultural constructions
- Massachusetts and the media focus
- Canadian connections
- International perspectives
- Economic factors
- Political influence
- DOMA/Super DOMA implications
- Activism across the political spectrum
Additional suggestions are welcome.
