The Canadian Journal of History(Annales canadiennes d’histoire), Canada’s premier journal for the general study of world histories, is pleased to issue a call for articles. Successful submissions will be slated for publication either in December 2004 or during the 2005 calendar year.
The CJH/ACH publishes in all fields of history, geographic, temporal, and topical. Although we particularly encourage Canadian scholars to submit their work, we also welcome contributions from authors who are not Canadian citizens or residents, or who are not affiliated with Canadian institutions.
We aim to make current and innovative historical research available to a general academic audience. The majority of our authors are professional, university-affiliated historians who hold the Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Under certain circumstances, we make appropriate exceptions. In addition, we hold an annual competition for best graduate-student essay; M.A. and Ph.D. candidates are invited to participate.
The CJH/ACH is a peer-reviewed journal; we use the standard double-blind method of evaluation. We request that authors do not submit work that, in part or in whole, has been published, or is being considered for publication, elsewhere.
The CJH/ACH is subscribed to by most major academic libraries in North America, Europe, and the Commonwealth. Its content is electronically distributed by several services including ProQuest, MicroMedia, Gale/Thompson, and Ebsco.
For more information about the journal, as well as specific guidelines for contributors, feel free to visit our website at www.usask.ca/history/cjh. We look forward to hearing from you and, hopefully, to reading your work.
Best wishes,
John McCannon
Associate Editor, CJH/ACH
