The Louisiana Historical Association invites paper proposals for its annual meeting to be held March 15-17, 2005, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Proposals for individual papers are welcomed, and we seek topics representing all aspects of Louisiana history and culture. While the focus of the conference is on Louisiana history, we also accept papers on the history of the South, the United States, Central and South America, Europe and other areas (in that order of preference).
The proposal deadline is September 1, 2004. Proposals should include a one-page description of the topic and a brief resume or vita of the presenter. The material should be sent to the program chair at the address below.
Presentations are to last approximately twenty to twenty-five minutes
(eight to ten pages of double-spaced text) if in a two-paper session, and fifteen minutes if in a three-paper session. Individuals submitting proposals will be informed of the status of their proposal by October 15.
