Ball State University is offering its next South Asia field study in Spring 2005. This is a unique field semester which provides an extraordinary opportunity to experience the socially, culturally, and historically different South Asia; to develop a critical understanding of your own cultures and environments; and to better locate yourselves within an increasingly globalizing world. This time we undertake collaborative projects with leading Indian schools in Ahmedabad and Trivandrum (Kerala), and visit Mumbai, Taipei, and Bangkok (The last two are stopovers). The experience is life-changing, and it is open to upper-level undergraduates and Master's level students from any major with an interest in social, cultural, and spatial aspects of urban and/or built environments. Suitable for architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, and social science students. The students spend 10-11 weeks in south Asia and earn credits for a full semester; they also get to work with students from other schools in the USA. Last time we had students from MIT and Berkeley. This time it is funded by a Fulbright-Hays award. For more information, please visit:
