Popular Culture/American Culture Association in South

The Popular Culture Association in the South/American Culture Association in the South invite proposals on any aspect of popular or American culture. Possible topics include but are not limited to pre/post 911, teaching (with) popular culture, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, reality TV/unreality TV, Gulf war(s), Presidents & Presidential culture, queer theory in recent films, the Star Trek (and other) franchise(s), comic books, undertakers/funerals/ graveyards, 40 years of Kennedy conspiracy theory, anime & manga, rock & roll culture, hip hop culture, alien abductions & UFOs, political culture/culture of politics, corporate scandals & the culture of business, local folklore.
Submit abstracts of 100-150 words to the program chair by May 31. Panel submissions are also welcome and should include each presenter’s abstract and institutional affiliation. Please include requests for audio-visual equipment (VCR/monitor, overhead projector, & slide projector) with the abstract.
