The Past, Present, and Future of History Education

This symposium explores critical themes in the history and current practice of history education including the role of historians and historiography in the development of pedagogy, relationships between K-12 and college level history teachers, the role of politics and civics in history education curriculum and policy, and current practices and projects that provide valuable resources and support to history educators. Participants include: Gary Nash, Sheldon Hackney, Mary Maples Dunn, Kathleen Anderson Steeves, William Cutler, and Jonathan Zimmerman.
