ways in which both myths and music help us understand various montane peoples and cultures; and
ways of understanding broader cultural issues concerning “music, myths, and mountains.”
Stipends to help offset travel and lodging costs as well as registration fees will be available to presenters employed by universities other than Virginia Tech.
Proposals are due no later than midnight on 1 July 2004. Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words and should include the names, professional addresses, and telephone numbers of potential participants; they should also include requests for audio-visual equipment or other technological assistance.
