The 8th IACR annual conference takes place this year in Girton College, Cambridge UK. The title of the conference is "Theorising Ontology". The conference runs from August 17 to 19, 2004.

Plenary speakers include Sandra Harding (ontology and feminist theorising), Margaret Archer (ontology and human subjectivity), and John Dupre (ontology in biology: genes and genomes).
