WCAAS 2004, Call for Papers, Proposals are due by June 15, 2004.
WCAAS September 30-October 2, 2004, Seattle, Washington. Hosted by the Jackson School of International Studies, University of Washington.
The University of Washington and the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies will be hosting the Annual Meeting of the Western Conference of the Association for Asian Studies (WCAAS) in 2004. The conference will be held from September 30-Oct. 2 in Seattle, Washington. We welcome proposals for individual papers, panels, round table sessions and poster sessions from faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students, and independent scholars who are devoted to teaching and doing research in the field of East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian and Asian American Studies. We would particularly like to emphasize interdisciplinary and interregional panels and papers that go beyond the traditional boundaries of disciplines.
Panel proposals should include a 250 word (maximum) abstract stating the general theme of the panel AND a 250 word (maximum) abstract of the presentation of each participant.
Proposals for individual papers, roundtable sessions and poster sessions should include a 250 word (maximum) abstract.
All proposals should include the following information:
- Title of panel, individual paper, roundtable or poster session
- Abstract for panel (plus an abstract of each participant’s paper), individual paper, roundtable, or poster session
- Names of all presenters, including chair and/or organizer and discussant
- E-mail addresses, mailing addresses, affiliations and specializations (field/region) of all participants
