The Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era (SHGAPE)
Call for Papers Deadline:
The Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era (SHGAPE) co-sponsors panels with the OAH and AHA at their annual meetings and also sponsors independent panels at both meetings-- as an affiliated society of the AHA and in the Pocket Program of the OAH. The 2005 AHA meets in Seattle, January 6-9, 2005; the OAH meets in San Francisco on March 31-April 3, 2005.

Scholars interested in proposing independent SHGAPE panels at the 2005 annual meetings of either the OAH or AHA should send a complete proposal to the SHGAPE program committee by April 15, 2004. The SHGAPE Program Committee will be happy to assist interested scholars in organizing and proposing sessions on the Gilded Age and Progressive Era. Members of this year's SHGAPE Program Committee are Peter Argersinger, Southern Illinois University; Gordon Bakken, California State University at Fullerton; Ruth Crocker, Auburn University; and Kristin Hoganson, University of Illinois.
