The International Edible Legume Conference is to be held in conjunction with the IV World Cowpea Congress and will take place at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Durban in South Africa from 17 to 21 April 2005. The joint conference and congress promises to embrace the latest advances, challenges, and opportunities on a variety of subjects ranging from the most basic scientific research on edible legumes to the most practical issues confronting the commercial legume industry.
IELC 2005 and the Cowpea Congress will include Plenary lectures, invited lectures, concurrent paper presentations selected by the Scientific Committee, poster presentations and technical demonstrations. Workshops and Discussions may be arranged on a formal or informal basis. The composition of the scientific, trade and industry sessions will be determined based on the expressions of interest received. One of the three concurrent sessions during the conference will be dedicated to cowpeas.
