ViVa Women's History is a current online bibliography of articles about women's and gender history. Articles published in English, French, German, a few Scandinavian languages and Dutch have been selected from more than 17O scholarly journals.
Recently the following titles were added to the list of indexed journals: the Journal of American Ethnic History, the Journal of Historical Sociology, the Journal of Southeast Asian Studies, Itinerario: the European Journal of Overseas History, Saothar: the Journal of the Irish Labour History Society, Cahiers du Monde Russe, Cahiers Charles Fourier, the Journal of World History, the Radical History Review, Urban History, and Twentieth Century British History.
Today, the ViVa database contains bibliographic records describing more than eight thousand articles published from 1975 to 2003 in historical and women's studies journals. The database is freely accessible at www2.iisg.nl/viva/
ViVa is compiled at the International Institute of Social History, Amsterdam, the Netherlands (www.iisg.nl); citations of articles on women in African history are contributed by Davis Bullwinkle, the compiler of Africa.Bib (www.africabib.org/), University of Arkansas-Little Rock, in Little Rock, AR (USA).
