JoAnn M. Valenti, a founding member of SEJ and elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), will lead a workshop at this year's NEW-CUE Conference honoring Rachel Carson. Topics will include the "hot" issues for editors, where today's top environment reporters are, and where are the gaps? Dr. Valenti serves on the editorial boards of Science Communication, SEJournal, and The Journal of Religion and Media.
The workshop will be part of the program for the Third NEW-CUE Writers’ Conference and Workshop in honor of Rachel Carson that will be held at The Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, from June 15-18. The Keynote Speaker will be ocean conservationist, Carl Safina, author of Song for the Blue Ocean, Eye of the Albatross: Visions of Hope and Survival, and the Seafood Lover’s Almanac.
