This Symposium will seek to investigate common and contrasting responses to
apparent large-scale shifts in gender roles with particular focus on
questions of gender equality, encompassing attitudinal, lifestyle and
policy changes in post-war western liberal democratic states.
Internationally renowned scholars from a range of distinct disciplines will
gather to evaluate the aspirations and realities of gender equality in an
age of supposed 'equal opportunities'.
