May 16 – May 30 in Trento, Italy, and other cities in southeastern Europe.
Students will witness the success of diverse ethnic communities working together to build economic, legal, and social institutions through peaceful cross-cultural communication in the border regions of old and new Europe; learn about the development of civil societies, grass-roots management, and public relations in seminars and field trips with academic specialists and professionals from governments, non-government organizations, and broadcast journalism. The course includes travel to cities in southeastern Europe to understand the implementation of local and international programs first-hand. Students will reside in the picturesque setting of northern Italy with full access to AU's Graduate Research Center on Europe and the University of Trento.
