Ethnography Writer's Workshop, May 31 to June 27, 2004
Escape the routine to the OSEA workshop in Mérida, Yucatán
- Participants bring a writing project that needs to be completed (chapter, journal article, research proposal, conference paper, etc.) in any field of cultural focused humanities or social science
- Participants spend the day writing and participate in a daily forum in which each participant receives the constructive commentary of the other participants and OSEA Staff
- OSEA Staff provides expert guidance, feedback and intellectual stimulation to aid your writing
- Down time can be spent relaxing in OSEA garden and pool, enjoying the attractions of Mérida, Mexico, and taking short weekend excursions to archaeological and cultural heritage sites in the Maya world of Yucatán
- Workshop is ideal for grads and professors needing to devote full time and all energy to writing and who want the intellectual exchange and stimulation of a small group of scholars dedicated to the task of completing a publication project
- Resident participants are offered lodging, all meals except weekend dinners, and a comfortable setting to work and to develop their writing
- Ideal for anthropologists and other scholars in the fields of social science and humanities whose research is in the area of cultural description, analysis, multimedia commentary, cultural criticism, and related studies
- Supplementary seminars on writing and publishing strategies are arranged according to the needs and interests of participants and group
