Abstracts for papers, panels, poster sessions, and slide talks are being accepted for a for a joint meeting of scholars and professionals during the
Comic-Con International
San Diego, Calilfornia July 22-25, 2004
We seek proposals from a broad range of disciplinary and theoretical perspectives, and welcome the participation of academic, independent, and fan scholars. We welcome professionals from all areas of the comics industry, including creators, editors, publishers, retailers, distributors, and journalists.
We also invite scholars and professionals to participate as respondents to presentations.
The Conference is designed to bring together comics scholars, professionals, critics, and historians who wish to promote or engage in serious study of the medium, and to do so in a forum that includes the public.
Papers and poster sessions may take a critical or historical perspective on comics (juxtaposed images in sequence).
Submit a 100 to 200 word abstract by March 1 to:

Papers that fit in with this year’s Comic-Con programming themes are welcome.
