INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR JEFFERSON STUDIES-GILDER LEHRMAN JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP.
The International Center for Jefferson Studies at Monticello is pleased to announce a nine-month Gilder Lehrman Junior Research Fellowship open to scholars working on Jefferson projects, to begin in September.
Fellows will devote their time to research and writing on topics directly related to Thomas Jefferson, his times, and legacy. The award is intended to support revision of the fellow’s book manuscript, but consideration will be given to candidates who propose to undertake original research. He or she will be provided with an office in the new Jefferson Library, and will be invited to participate in scholarly activities organized by the ICJS.
The fellowship carries a stipend of $30,000 for nine months. Applicants should submit one copy of a book-length manuscript and six copies of the following: a resume, a 2,000-word description of the project, and a prospective timetable for completion of the project. Three references should be sent directly to the ICJS at the address below. The application deadline is December 1. The award will be made no later than March 1.
