The California Council for the Promotion of History (CCPH) will hold its annual conference in Eureka, California, September 23-25, 2004. The conference theme of Rendezvous in the Redwoods: Exploring California's Regional Histories encompasses a wide range of topics that will focus on the development of California's very distinct regional identities. Specific sessions and tours are currently being developed. A call for papers will be distributed in mid-February. Stipends (usually $400 each) for students and new professionals (with less than five years' work experience in public history) will be available and will be announced within the next few months. For more information, keep an eye on our website (http://www.csus.edu/org/ccph) or email us at ccph@csus.edu and asked to be placed on our conference mailing list.
