The First Annual Gender and Development Conference at the University of Missour-Kansas City will be held on February 28, 2004 in Royall Hall on the UMKC campus. The conference's theme is "Rethinking Women's Lives in Culture, Economy, and Politics" and features scholars from sociology, anthropology, economics, history, English, Law, and other disciplines. This conference should be of interest to faculty and graduate students who are interested in the gendering of the various areas of international development. Audience registration is $10 (with lunch). Next year's conference will be on February 26, 2005.
