2005 BC Studies Conference will be held 28 – 30 April 2005, at the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George. This interdisciplinary conference welcomes proposals for panels and papers from all areas of BC Studies, including history, literature, geography, sociology, anthropology, ethnohistory, political science, and education.
As the British Columbia Political Studies Association will be meeting at UNBC at the same time, panels that relate to both groups are encouraged. Conference themes include:
- Imagined communities
- Regional politics
- Health and wellness
- Heritage and identity
- First Nations and nationalism
- ‘Heartland’ Policy and Practice
Be creative and send us your ideas for a panel, paper presentation, or workshop. Proposals should include a title, an abstract of 100-150 words, your institutional affiliation (if appropriate), degrees, recent positions and publications relevant to the subject matter of the conference or your presentation. Also please contact us if you are interested in being a discussant or participating in the program in some other way.
