Recent legal, civil and ecclesiastical events have instigated new as well as old controversies over the limits and definitions of marriage. The journal /Discourse/ seeks articles with a critical focus on any aspect of these controversies as well as their possible historical and conceptual racinations. Treatments of any historical, literary, critical or geopolitical context will be considered, although articles should implicitly or explicitly address contemporary debates and concerns in some way. A variety of critical approaches is welcome, including literary, philosophical, historical, religious, anthropological, legal, queer and gender studies, etc. Articles must be formatted in MLA style. The deadline for receipt of articles is June 30, 2004. Writers are encouraged to send brief queries for initial consideration before that date. Please email all materials and queries to Carl Good, Discourse Co-Editor, cgood2@emory.edu.
